Here’s a pair of ANC (active noise canceling) true wireless earbuds that sound good and are perfect for sport thanks to an ambient sound mode that enables just enough external noise to blend in with the music so the wearer can be alert to dangers like traffic when they are running or cycling.

The Lavanda Lune earbuds are housed in the usual pill-box shaped charging case and can play for up to 9 hours with the ANC turned off, and around 5 hours with it turned on. This means the Lavanda Lune can play for up to 45 hours before the charging case needs to be topped up using the USB-C charging cable that’s supplied in the box.

Like most pairs of true wireless earbuds, the Lavanda Lune are supplied with a good selection of silicone ear tips in different sizes that should suit most people’s ears. It’s very important to fit the right size of ear tip otherwise the earbuds can fall out and the music certainly won’t sound as good as they should. Taking sufficient time to ensure the earpieces fit properly will pay dividends when it comes to sound quality and comfort.


With a water-resistance rating of IP66, the Lavanda Lune are highly water and dust resistant which makes them ideal for use outdoors or in a hostile environment. Each earbud weighs just 5g and they feel superbly comfortable to wear. 

Both earbuds include touch controls which can be used to cycle through ANC mode, Ambient Sound mode or turning the features off completely. The touch controls can also be used to play music, pause or skip tracks, as well as taking phone calls. Call quality with the built-in microphones in each earbud is surprisingly good and the mics are also be used for giving commands to Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri and sampling the noise that the earphones will cancel.

The active noise-cancellation feature of the Lavanda Lune works reasonably well due to using the latest hybrid method of noise cancelation. However, like so many true wireless earbuds with ANC, the Lavanda Lune can’t compete with the efficiency of a pair of noise-canceling over-the-ear headphones or a pair of top-flight earphones like the superb Jabra Elite 85t. Even so, the Lune’s ANC does help to cut repetitive noises like road noise or the roar of aircraft engines; plus it’s better than not having any ANC.

The Lavanda Lune are fitted with an Airoha 1552A chip that uses Bluetooth 5.0 and support both SBC and AAC audio codecs. There’s no support for apt-X or apt-X HD but AAC is good enough for me. The Bluetooth reception is strong and the receiving distance can extend up to 30 meters with a compatible Bluetooth 5.0 streamer.



So far, the Lavanda Lune ticks all the boxes that any good pair of tune wireless earbuds should tick, but features count for little if the sound is only mediocre. Lavanda’s engineers have tuned the Lune earphones to produce a meaty bass which is what a lot of consumers want these days, especially when listening to pop and hip-hop. It’s not a ridiculously woolly bass but it’s sufficiently warm and well-articulated.

There’s no way the sound of these earbuds could be described as neutral or having a flat response, but thanks to 9.2mm dynamic drivers, the Lavanda Lune can pump out plenty of volume and I enjoyed the sound a lot. The upper midrange did feel slightly pinched and compressed in places, but these earbuds sound as good as some models costing twice the price and even a bit more. They will suit any music with a strong rhythm or big bassline.


Verdict: The Lavanda Lune ANC true wireless earbuds sound more than acceptable. They have great water-resistance rating as well as good battery life. The ANC function is acceptable, but it won’t win any awards. Even so, the ANC is still worth having. The Lavanda Lune deliver great sound and have most of the features you’d want from a pair of ANC true wireless earbuds and they are priced sensibly.
